Dr. Albert P. Zengo is from Boston and a graduate of Tufts University. He received his dental degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York. Upon graduation, he was elected into the National Dental Honorary Society and the recipient of the award of The International College of Dentists for outstanding achievement during his years of dental study at Columbia University. He received his post-graduate certificate in Orthodontics also at Columbia. He joined the graduate faculty and received an appointment as Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthodontics and developed a biological model for the study of stress-induced bioelectric effects in bone. As co-investigator, a NIDR federal grant was obtained for continued basic research and was conducted in the Orthopedic Research Lab of Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Data from the research resulted in lectures to undergraduate and post doctoral students, publications in scientific journals as well as presentations at national meetings. In addition to basic research in bone, Dr. Zengo served as orthodontic consultant to undergraduate and post graduate students seeking orthodontic guidance in selected patients. He has always maintained a love for patient treatment and patient interaction and as such enjoys a full time practice limited to orthodontics. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the College of Diplomates of the ABO, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
